Everything you need to know before joining or attending your first run.
Yes — ECOJOCS is a Jeep-specific club. If you're looking for a club that accepts other vehicle types, we're happy to help point you toward one that's a better fit.
A single membership is $65/year. A family membership is $85/year — this allows a second household member to attend events in an additional Jeep. Friends and family are always welcome as passengers at no extra cost.
Absolutely. We are a family-friendly club with a focus on responsible wheeling. Kids, spouses, and friends join us regularly on trail days and social events.
None. We welcome all experience levels — from brand new off-roaders to veterans with decades on the trail. We split groups on trail days to accommodate different skill levels and vehicle builds. If a section is more than you want to attempt, there's always an open seat in another member's Jeep.
Yes. Many of our trail locations are stock-friendly. We always note the rig recommendations for each run — if the terrain is beyond your setup, we'll get you in a passenger seat so you can still experience the day.
At minimum: fixed front and rear tow points (bumpers and roll bars do not qualify), a 20–30 ft tow strap rated for 20,000 lbs, a securely mounted battery, and seatbelts for all occupants. A VHF radio is required for trail communication — we can loan one if you haven't purchased yet. See the What to Expect section for a full checklist.
We use VHF (not CB) radios for group communication on the trail. Common options include the Baofeng UV-5R (~$25) or the Kenwood TH-D74A for more advanced users. If you don't have one yet, we'll loan you a club radio for your first runs.
Members get access to the full event calendar and run details through the member portal. Public events (parades, charity drives) are listed on the homepage. To get access to trail run details, you'll need to join.
We wheel on private properties and legal public trails in the Northeast, mostly outside of Connecticut, within about an hour of Hartford. Trail coordinates are shared with members only through the member portal.
Wranglers (TJ, JK, JL), CJs, Cherokee XJs, and Gladiators — everything from stock daily drivers to purpose-built trail rigs. If it's a Jeep, it's welcome.
Submit a membership application, then the board reviews it. Once accepted, you'll sign the club bylaws, complete the Tread Lightly! online course, pay annual dues, attend at least 2 club meetings and 1 event, obtain a Massachusetts OHV permit, and complete our Club 101 safety course.
